11th Annual Rivers Alive cleanup
Beginning in October, thousands of volunteers will work along Georgia's waterways to clean up litter and other debris, as part of the 11th annual volunteer river cleanup.
Sponsored by the Department of Natural Resources, Adopt-A-Stream Program and Keep Georgia Beautiful Program, as well as several regional river cleanup groups and community organizations, the project's goal is to raise awareness of the need to keep Georgia's water supply clean and safe.
October 18th marks the 30th anniversary of the Clean Water Act, a bill enacted to protect our nation's water resources.
